That's why I call it, another way to approach indicator dead drifting. The downstream approach verses fishing across from you. Alot of the time you already spooked out the big fish. I think sneaking up on the trout by casting downstream and feeding line into the drift. That way the trout doesn't know as much and youo can be more stealthy on how to feed the fly into the fish. It's like throwing a reach mend (angle cast) and already have the line mended so you can focus on feeding line into the drift without moving the indicator.
