But have you ever asked yourself if this works on other tailwaters, streams or rivers that have trout and for that matter BIG trout. I'm a firm believer that big fish will always relate to egg patterns over any other fly when nymph fishing. I never fished egg patterns for the first 11 years of my fly fishing, but when I did start fishing them I hooked a 14 pound rainbow within weeks of fishing one. It made me a believer and now I'm a fan of feeding fish fabric. I never fished on reds and don't respect people who do. I fish this pattern all year long and it seems to hook big trout all the time. There is a little science involved and that is where I spent a great deal of time figuring out. I would never claim that I'm the one who invented this fly, but I do believe I took it to the next level on why trout in relationship to understanding the "why" and "how" to this fly pattern. I'm sure some people know about it, but if you don't....you can now. Trust me; you will want this in your fly box if you are tired of looking for the one when none of your flies will get the job done. I would put this fly up to any nymph pattern in your fly box for tricking bigger trout.
